Mario ElÍas

is a published Photographer, Author and Artist with work featured by Vogue Magazine, DAZED, Plastik, People, Popsugar., Playbill and more. He studied Archaeology and Art History with a concentration on Photography at Columbia in Chicago, IL.

His commercial work focuses on clean precise messaging with an elevated flair, while his artistic work highlights the strength in femininity and the power in our heritage and personal experience. He created The KindaSuper Project to bring photography and videography service to organizations and individuals with need.

He created a series of self-portraits that defy and question the male gaze by highlighting Womxn and Queer Individuals throughout Art History; two pieces were featured in museum collections by The Getty LA and The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, CA. This collection “Queering the Male Gaze,” 50+ portraits and 5 essays explaining their conceptualization and production with the importance of the original pieces, was published in summer of 2020 and is currently sold out after two printings. His first collection of Queer Portraiture “Perennial Beauty” was the inaugural show of Golden Gate University School of Law’s Social Impact Artist Series.
